Right now, you're probably in the early stages of planning, feeling overwhelmed by everyone else's opinions of what your wedding should look like and just wanting to say screw it and do what YOU want!
Sound about right? I'm SO with you!
You deserve to do whatever you want to do on your
wedding day... say "I do" in a rainbow dress, flail around screaming
Mr. Brightside on the dance floor, giggle and make out with your new spouse like a teenager, wear your favorite pair of Doc Martens, and have tons of candid photos taken that capture just how
fan-freaking-tastic of a day you had!
That's Where I Come In...
Hey, friends! I'm Meaghan.
I'm your friendly neighborhood photographer taking up residence just outside of Providence, RI - aka the greatest city in the world - with my husband and second shooter, Evan, and our pup, Arya (yes, that Arya from Game of Thrones). When I'm not off photographing lovers like you, you can find me eating my way around the world, rewatching Broad City for the fifth time, or seeing Evan's band play at our local music venues.
"Remember how the stars stole the night away."
I seriously have the coolest job in the world - capturing some of the most emotional and intimate moments between you and your lover on one of the most important days of your life! I work with some of the most beautiful and unique individuals across the country, and for that reason I feel it wouldn't be right to talk about Rhode Tripper Photography without telling you about our values.
We firmly believe...
All bodies are beautiful Love is love Black Lives Matter
Adventure is everywhere Embrace the weird
More than just your photographer...
I've got "Wed Cred" babayy!
I come to you with over 7 years of experience in the wedding industry - having helped 100s of brides and their wedding parties find their dresses for their wedding days, as a bridal stylist at Alfred Angelo Bridal then planning and coordinating 60 weddings across Connecticut and Rhode Island as an event coordinator at A Thyme to Cook. Through it all, I felt a something missing in the wedding industry for the unconventional. I yearned to work with nontraditional couples and be there to capture the whole day as it unfolds rather than being constantly behind the scenes. Thus, Rhode Tripper Photography was born! Welcome to my next adventure combining my love of weddings and elopements and lifelong passion for photography.
Now, what does all that mean for you? I know how to fluff your train and bustle your dress, have an eye for the little details, and also have an understanding of the importance of crafting a perfectly flexible timeline. I always have an emergency bag with me full of all the wedding essentials - not just my loads of spare camera gear - so that you won't have to worry about a thing. Just relax and let me snap away!
Here is what just a few of my couples have to say about me during my time as a planner....
"[Meaghan] was wonderful throughout the entire process! She is truly one of the sweetest people and always happy to answer any questions we had! She even came to our final venue walk through so she could be there with us so everyone was on the same page with final details."
- Justine + Kyle -
"Meaghan answered seemingly endless emails and texts, and even an hour long phone call to make sure that every last detail was perfect... all while planning HER OWN wedding. She was patient, kind, and always reassuring. Meaghan has the ability to make you feel like you are simultaneously the only wedding she is coordinating with her attention and detail and the thousandth wedding she has done with her confidence and execution... Meaghan became a true friend along the way and made the entire process feel personal and comfortable."
- Heather + Kevin -
"From our email interactions, to our first meet, to our wedding day, every single step of the process was fun, easy and painless. Meaghan was an absolute dream to work with, and no question or task that I ever asked or requested was ever a bother or an inconvenience. Having her there through the planning process was like having an old friend you trust implicitly taking care of all the most important details of your day."
- Katie + Greg -
"Meaghan was our coordinator and could probably plan the Oscars without a hitch...she was a total dynamo. She was accessible, friendly, detail-oriented, and thoughtful. She was responsive to questions and ideas, and also instilled so much trust that there was zero stress in working with her."
- Jen + Chris -
What does it look like
to take the Rhode
having a personal wedding and elopement expert at your fingertips to help guide you throughout the totally foreign concept that getting married can be
each moment being photographed organically as you move through your wedding day while you laugh, kiss, cry, and dance your ass off
enjoying an adventurous and nontraditional wedding day that is perfectly reflective of the two of you regardless of where it is or who's invited
gaining a new best friend (that's me!) who absolutely adores you, constantly hypes you up, thinks of all the little things for you, and is totally over-prepared
sitting down with glass of your favorite drink after the wedding to look at the hundreds of insane photos of you absolutely crushing your wedding day together

The RTP Style
On your wedding day, your moments and details will be documented in a way that captures their essence naturally and artistically. I give more guidance than I do directing you into exact poses because I want you to look at a photo and say "That's so us!" not "That's just like these other 20 photos I saw on Pinterest." Not to worry though, I know you sometimes need to capture a few formals for the traditionalists in your life and exactly how to make them as painless and fun as possible!
My editing is done all by me - I never contract out my work because I'm too much of a control freak to let anyone else touch my photos. I have a detailed eye that translates from real life to edited photographs. The end product is photos that are reminiscent of moody vintage polaroids with a little bit a grain, the occasional light leaks, and a whole lot of beautiful movement and moments frozen in time!
"The power of love is a curious thing."
