Fall Engagement Session in Downtown Providence
Providence, Rhode Island has got to be one of my favorite places to photograph people in. You have the best of both quaint New England and modern city vibes all within walking distance, and it's usually fairly easy to get photos featuring the hustle and bustle of the city and also without any other people in them at all!
This engagement session, I was lucky enough to bring together my love of Providence and all things fall into one incredible shoot with Allie and Colin. They trusted me to run them around to different spots around the pedestrian bridge and South Main areas while capturing lots of movement and little in between moments walking from location to location.
First, we started out slow, the way I always like to do. It's totally normal to feel a little awkward during your engagement session as it's so I usually start with something easygoing as a warm up of sorts before getting creative with posing and prompting. This time, I had them take a seat on a park bench and then just walk around taking in the beautiful freshly changing fall leaves.
Then, we took a little walk down towards the pedestrian bridge. Look at those beautiful little pockets of sun flares and golden hour glow off the buildings.
The pedestrian bridge was the main event though and somewhere we knew we had to visit along the way. This was because it was the spot where Colin had proposed to Allie right along the railing overlooking the Narragansett Electric Building. And when we went over to that spot, the perfect breeze came through and blew around Allie's poncho making from some a seriously stunning cinematic moment.
And no engagement session would be complete for me without something a little nontraditional. This time, despite the cooler temps, we stopped at Tizzy K's for some of their famous cereal milk ice cream. It was seriously so delicious!
